The studio
Two photographers, one darkroom, and a shelf of cameras that should have retired years ago.
We started Lumen & Grain because we missed the pace of film — waiting for a roll, cutting negatives, watching a print come up in the tray. Everything we make begins on an actual piece of film and ends as an actual print you can hold.
The studio is a single north-facing room with good light and a proper wet darkroom next door. We keep the calendar deliberately small so every sitting gets the whole afternoon if it needs it.
